Only one I have heard of is Chicago, but that says nothing. What matters is how you relate to the place. As every person is different, this is a personal debate.

U of Chicago is very big, while I think the other schools are smaller liberal arts colleges. They are mainly well respected American colleges.

apparently it's very well known among intellectuals/academics

it's tiny and considered one of the most intellectual colleges

but, job prospects don't seem to be too good with a degree from this college,

Reed's not far from where I live...I'd have gone there at the drop of a pen if I could afford it, or if I had the right high school grades. Instead, I'm stuck at the state school.

It's pretty prestigious from what I understand. Right now, it might be more famous for its very relaxed drug policy than for its academics, but I've heard it described before as a "West Coast Ivy League" school.
