This is a philosophical topic we were given in this writing class I have undertaken.
It is supposed to help me find the basics of why I want to write about and also discover why I write the way I do.
The idea is to write and then decide that I what I have written is telling me 'something'.
The title of the story would be the 'something' I found out.

The question given was this:

Is life a station or a train?

We are allowed to speculate any other possibilities within this question and out it.
We are asked to provide three possible theoretical pieces around STATION TRAIN and something else of our own.

Interesting topic - are you portraying yourself as a static observer watching the world and all its people pass you by (a station) or do you immerse yourself in life and describe your experiences (on board the train)?

Hi hillwalker thank you for posting.
Your answers are interesting because they are similar and different to mine.
A static observer is in all of us and so watching what others do or say is part of it. Life is listening observing and reporting back. It does make sense.
Immerse yourself I never thought about it either.
My first part of the answer matches yours in the sense that I wrote that I considered a station as being stationary and I was being passive as life pass me by and not doing much to get out there and live it to the full. Your answer is much more enthusiastic then mine haha.

My second theoretical answer about life being a train is that life is a ride on a fast lane. The train being fast but, there is always a but, it also stops for people to get off and recharge hence the slowing down phase. So the idea plays on fast slow then change and start again. Getting of is the recharging process by looking back as you mentioned on experiences.

The in-between answer or the third answer lies between a station and a train. We are to give a third answer and elaborate around it to. I am suggesting that life is a driver and I am the conductor. A bit like a choir of musicians, which symbolises light and enjoyment, and the maestro being the controller ie in control.

What is your possible third answer?

My third answer would be that we get on the train... but always leave one foot on the platform!

Some people live as if they're tied to the tracks and need someone else to come rescue them and give them a life.

Some people live as if they're tied to the tracks and need someone else to come rescue them and give them a life.

Ouch that is a true vision of stagnation.
A harsh one.
lol nice line I guess drama versus life.
