Can we get rid of referral points after we have been good a certain amount of time?

Do you mean the infraction points? If so, it all depends on the reason the points have been given and how long ago.

You should get notified when or if you do.
A notification message usually does the trick.

Infraction points are only issued if someone breaks the Forum Rules and you are informed immediately.

In your profile, there should be a tab that says "Infractions", however, which is only visible to the person.
