I have never been a reader. Not even sure if I enjoy reading, yet I have idealistic ideas about it. So I guess I'm here to explore my true feelings about reading and writing.

Good luck. I just love books. As I've said, just walking round a bookshop can make me forget depression. But people are different.

Yes, I love bookstores as well. I love books, too. As physical objects.

It's funny isn't it? I get bored by movies and TV dramas, and suspect I'd not be that fond of Kindle books. I wonder if it's something to do with being in control? Reading a book I can choose when and how fast I read, I can skip the boring bits and go back and check on bits that struck me or I don't quite get. A movie or talking book is in control of me - it sets the speed.

When I was young there were always second hand bookshops. Apart from the Welsh town of Hay on Wye and London's Charing Cross Road, they've disappeared. Charity shops aren't the same.

Mind you there is the matter of the content of books....
