The storm it passes
and leaves life the same
a few broken branches
power lines down
it is more than we can bear
please God tell me
when is Starbucks going to be open again?

Humanity gets what it deserves
every time, don't believe me?
Turn on the news
Whores pedaling misery
just hope its not yours
as your mothers gobble it up

I like the theme of the first stanza-or what I think is the theme anyway. but the mention of whores in the second stanza seems like a non sequitur. It feels like you abandoned the first stanza for another topic altogether.

Also, don't forget your just supposed to post one poem a day in the Personal Poetry section.

And sometimes taking a break from writing immediately following a bad break-up (or brothel experience?) is a good idea.

This reminds me of a short poem I wrote a while ago. I didn't think it was very good, but everyone else did, so maybe you're on to something.

Not literal whores, but the media sells death. It is quite perverse and people love it. Hence those last three lines. Hope it is not your misery they are selling.

Just seems like your recent poems have some common thread running through them....but then again, I am no psyche-ologist.
