Do you sleep better in winter or summer?
or does it not make any difference?

I sleep really well most of the time, especially since drastically reducing my alcohol intake. I sleep better in the winter because I have always believed that humans would have slept longer in the winter - a sort of mini-hibernation. Getting up in the winter when it is dark outside is the worst thing about the season.

I hate to boast but I think I'm one of the best sleepers around. My favourite time for sleeping is between the hours of 6am and 10am, although I sleep pretty well during the night. One of the problems about morning sleep is that my cat will often wake before I do and start miaowing for her first meal of the day and it gets to the point where I have to keep her downstairs because those early morning hours are sacrosanct. As for Winter versus Summer sleep, it seems obvious that with longer hours of darkness, there is a tendency to sleep more deeply than when the light levels are higher. There are few things more satisfying than to wake while it is still dark and, with the wind and rain rattling the windows, to turn over and go back to sleep.

well apparently from what I have heard people sleep differently from winter to summer.
I think it is the same only in winter you wish to spend longer in bed because it is cold and it is that type of weather and the summer one wants to get up earlier because it feels good and the sun is shining.
Either then that I think sleeping patters are no different.

Well it's 7am and I haven't slept an ounce.
A hopeless sleeper, winter or summer.

It absolutely makes a difference.
I can NOT sleep in the summer, when I can't sleep my body starts to fail, heart races too fast, my blood pressure gets too high, I start passing out, I can't complete coherent thoughts and so on.
Winter, on the other hand, I am in the best of shape I can be. And I sleep perfectly. Not to mention I am happier.

Any reason why you have not slept?

I am surprised you can't sleep in the summer. Is it because it is too hot where you are?
