Many people who read this book and say it's boring, just don't understand it or choose not to. This book has action, adventure, comedy, meaning, and goes into detail about the fastenating whaling biz. (which, of course, whaling is not a thing of the present) as well as lets you get to know complex characters that represent sterotypes of society; the savage, the loonatic, the noble coward, and Ahab who is expressed as one who doesn't feel emotin "he has a wife and kid's, but hasent seen them in forty years" He's "losing his religion" and going mad, avenging a creature greater than him. He is compared to a machine and a god. He feels no sympthy even for poor pip, cast to sea and lost his mind. People should not criticize this classic all American Novel until they fully understand what they are talking about. Can I get an Amen?
