My Friend

I haven't moved from this spot all morning
and neither has he or she, my little spider friend.
It just swings in the gentle draft.
Neither of us has gathered the energy
or the courage to face the world today.
His lies on my wall and mine
just slightly beyond.
My little spider friend just hangs there
I think I'll sleep in today.
