That lurking unease, when fall takes over -

evenings come early, a little colder,
the alley where I walk under carobs shrinks.
The moon retreats at whim (if this is godly!),
leaving me and the pewter sky befogged.

On the whole, all is usual, orderly, expected,
I only feel sort of disoriented, between
the Turkish clouds and southern desert wind.

My cells throb in discomfort, so I rest a while
on a bench, trying to untangle the pointers of time,
but the thing is I regret the summer –

bliss of a lazy swim in an inky sea inlet,
of weightless voile and instant sundried hair,
of prime ice coffee against the heat.

I could pare the season’s blunt progression,
hiding in Caesarea white sands, but already
start falling with prickly pears’ adieu to the cacti,
already done down by a draft through my soul.

Hmm, I wonder do like winter? I get sense you do but yet it question time at change because how quick it get dark.

Favourite lines:

"Yet on the whole, all works orderly, as planned;"
you only feel somewhat confused between
the Turkish clouds and southern desert wind…

Hey Zoool! Thank you, glad you find a line or two to like here. Actually I'm always torn at this time of the year with no alternative but live through the passage from summer to fall (and with the transition's contrasting events). This powerlessness wakes depression...

I used to hate this time of the year as summer gives way to autumn, now I feel numb. I'm thinking symbolically, with so many people I know who are / were in the winter of their lives, the actual cold seasons are much better scenarios.

I enjoy the fine details of an exotic land you bring into every one of your poems. "Hiding in Caesarea white sands"...how beautiful, in texture and thought.
