I can't believe that someone in an "AP" class wrote those comments; they sound like they were written by a complete illiterate! Did you ever hear of correct spelling, capitalization, or punctuation? God help you when you get to college! A North Carolina English teacher

I have read this book and I do not think it is a book for high school students to read. It was boring and did not help me with learning anything. I already know how to read and comprehind what I read so thats not the way it helped. It was a book I could not get into and thats what made it suck..

It's possibly the fact that the submitters of the comments above (Sept 12th and Feb 6th) are borderline illiterates that has prevented them from gaining any insight into this marvellous work of literary fiction. You cannot hope to delve into the many textured layers of a great novel when you lack the basic ability to spell or to form clear, lucid sentences.
Maybe to get yourselves "furthured intelluctual (sic)" you could start with a work more at your own level, say Dr Seuss?
I had to read this for a High School Junior AP English class. I don't consider myself furthered intelluctual because of this work, and frankly, i'm tired of talking about it (we're on our 4 week after completing reading)...definately not one of my favorites, nor is it an "american great novel".
