What if I were to tell you, that I'm tired and broken,
In my heart...my mind...my soul,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

Scarred from personal trials and tribulations,
But mostly...from the state of the world.
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

The pain of knowing that the flora, fauna and animals,
Which are treated with such indifference and cruelty,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

I see the treatment of the underprivaledged and starving peoples of the world,
Who only get help when it suits a country or an organizations adgenda,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

With every new story or news event I hear,
Which pushes my faith in man further away,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

When I hear of the good people...who tried to make a difference,
Murdered...silenced...given no respect, just because they want peace for the world and for the health of the planet,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

The religions who preach peace and love for your fellow man...be it friend or enemy,
Reduced to hollow words, that make them feel justified...for the actions they take,
And yet...I can fix nothing alone.
So...all I can do is cry.

I know I'm not the only one broken, in their heart, in their mind and in their soul,
Each of us...tearful with the unheard music of hope, reason and empathy,
Yet...I think if we all globally stood up and said why we are broken, then maybe...just maybe, we could fix something.
So...all I can do is smile at the thought of it.

It is entirely possible and most likely that Allende was a CIA agent. Castro opposed open Marxism surrounded by 4 right wing military countries. Chile had a very powerful underground movement that they wanted to bring to the surface and identify. Allende came and did it in preparation for Pinochet who eventually exiled hundreds and killed those who did not want to leave. Open Marxism was ridiculous in that situation. Allende upped wages and the monopolies reacted logically with retaining merchandize. The results? All the underground leaders came on board to Allende's government and the people had lots of money without anything to buy. It was just a matter of time before the original middle class got tired and turned around in preparation for Pinochet's counter revolution. Allende was well educated and too smart to fight that kind of battle on his own. He eventually had to go and he was murdered. But why? He knew too much. Why? He wasn't stupid. He saw it coming and guided it all the way.
Open Marxism in those days in Chile would have been a most naive thing in the world. But getting rid of Chile's underground without open Marxism would have been just as naive if it had been a success.:smash:

i think that what he meant in his speeches was the fact that people were becoming slaves and this is a relevant theme today take for example marcello difrizio protesting the Bolkestein euroburocracy for policies that favor multinationals over local owners
