What Is Conflict ?

Conflic is what literature is made off.
It is the same as saying literature was born for conflict.
A Cliche is born out of worn.
My thoughts are
Does conflict shape the mind and its rational or does it overide it long term?
In other words
Are we writing ourselves to better or to despair?
