If you are a writer, you can say what your first ever work was about. If you have never written a short story or any other fiction, you could mention what your first read book was.
For me: First book i read outside of those read for school was a collection of Leopardi's poems.
My first ever short story was about two friends who were seperated by a girl entering the life of one of them. The other friend retaliated by killing the girl. This, in turn, caused the other to kill and burry him. I was 17 at the time, and i think i wrote it after a night of reading HP Lovecraft.

If I remember correctly, my first piece of fiction was a newscast for one of my classes about a subversive group of squirrels that had infiltrated a high school in order to dispense Communist literature to the students in an attempt to start a national revolution...Hilarity ensues, probably...I'm foggy on the details.
My teacher said she liked it, but went on a 20 minute lecture to the rest of the class about why I was arrogant and they should watch out for people like me.

My very first piece I wrote when I was between 5 or 6 in French I do not recall what it was about but I remember getting a good grade on it.
The next piece when I was slightely older and it was a poem again in French.
The next big piece was when I was at secondary school . I remember like it was yesterday.
It was a running commentary about Starsky and Hutch.
It was a homework and we were asked to bring it to read it out loud in class.
My turn came up so I proceeded to read it and as I finished I looked up and the Frecnh teacher face was furious as she stood and shouted out loud at me 'that that was not my own homework but someone else's( an adult) did it for me.
I was taken aback, I was not expecting it, but was chilled about it. I just remember smiling. That was it haha.

I wrote a novel when I was 15-16, to my shame. It was a real stinker, so much so that even by the time I got to the end of it I realised it was dreadful. It was a Dan Brown-esque conspiracy thriller about the Vatican covering up the true implications of Original Sin, which predictably played out against a background of murder, explosions, car chases, and extremely violent German mystics in a breath-taking race-against-the-apocalypse scenario. Oh, and did I mention that the main character was a self-aware anti-Christ who had joined the clergy in an attempt to use the free-will part of his human side to overcome his fate? Heck, I even made the personification of Original Sin itself into a main character.
I am, thankfully, both older and wiser now.

My first story was about a granny who gains super powers xD Then I wrote another one about a guy and his kid who are refugees from a war. They were both done for school though. The first story I wrote of my own accord was one about a coal miner that I posted on here :)

The first short I ever wrote was about my first sexual experience with a prostitute.

The first story I can remember writing, I must have been very small, was about a boy finding a crashed flying saucer. It was illustrated. Inside the spacecraft was a standard little green man, but he was wearing a NASA style astronaut suit. The alien's name was Tyro. The boy protected him while he waited for his family to rescue him. They did. They had pictures of planets on their clothes. None of the story had anything to do with "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial." ~_~

So far I've written pieces of stories in the form of poems, so I am yet to write my first long story. Most likely it will have to do with aliens in an apocalyptic context, according to my plans. I wish to shape it as a novel.

I'm not a writer per se, but the first story I wrote would have been in primary school, I was probably about 7-8.
From memory, it was some fairly typical fantasy-adventure story, with monsters and lost objects and so on. I distinctly remember having absolutely no idea how to end it though...so I made a meteorite destroy the earth...looking back, I was way too pre-occupied with the obliteration of humanity, death and so on as a child. In fact, the vast majority of my stories as a kid ended up with large death tolls.

When I was about 10 me and a friend wrote a story about a beautiful horse. But the first story I remember writing on my own was about a boy that killed some folk, I was probably 14, I may have posted it here in the short story section, but I don't remember. I still like it.

Balloons I think. It was a load of crap actually since the project (in grade three) was to write a story about an anthropomorphic object that behaves as the object actually does in reality. My story was of course a masterpiece of bittersweet reality as the balloons conversed with each other while they drifted further and further from the child who had owned them but let them slip from his grasp!
Everybody else write about monster trucks driving themselves.

I started many stories from ages 6-12 that I didn't finish, mostly about people exploring the depths of the ocean (don't ask me which ocean). After age 12 I started writing longer character-centric sci-fi stories with lots of dialogue. They were all bad, and after writing some theater reviews for my city newspaper during my senior year of high school I just stopped writing fiction altogether.
I'm glad I stopped, because I like writing articles and papers a hell of a lot more than writing stories.

Oh god... First first story? That's going back decades, or at least a decade. If I recall it was about a dynasty of... Ninjas or something and their methods of training.
It was pretty awful, but I was an even younger child than I am now and my experience was limited.

My first story was about a couple at a football match. Both misread the rules of the game in their relationship. It was pretty cheesy but ok for a first effort.

I wrote a lot of stories when I was between 7 and 12. They were mostly beast fables, fairy tales or a mix up of folk-tales and myths. I made sure that the bad guys/animals got punished in the end. I can recall that some endings were quite hilarious and my father always joked about it.
Then I stopped writing.
I began to write again last year and posted a short story here about a month ago. I write in my MT as well as in English.

You have the flair! As long as time constraints allow it, keep on! :)

I have written several short stories for assignments in school, most of those would be about everyday stuff. Because the everyday is interesting and underrated. My first actual long story/book would be a fantasy story about a girl from a wealthy and powerful family that was promised to one of the family's wealthy and powerful neighbours to improve diplomatic relations. However, on the evening before the wedding she was taken by an old man who had been secretly living in her amazingly large castle all along watching over here because she was the chosen one. She would reunite the four crystals, each representing one of the elements, to defeat the dark lord in the North. Looking back it was cliche after cliche but most fantasy stories are and I was 12/13 at the time ;).
I started several other fantasy stories but finishing these are not my forte. My next project will probably not be a work of fantasy but will be about a boy's struggle with himself and his sexuality during his teenage years. IF I have the time of course because I just started uni and that, work and new friends have been consuming time like crazy
