Where men split open pretty young lips,
yellowed eyes beneath greying brows.
The wrong look, the wrong place to stand,
congealing puddles paint the floor.
'I'm a man you don't meet every day'
sang the man I saw here, yesterday.
Fear awakes beside my pillow
and it always wants to stay.
Love hides like a frightened child
whilst an alcove fills my chest,
it seems that there are places
it doesn't care to exist.
yellowed eyes beneath greying brows.
The wrong look, the wrong place to stand,
congealing puddles paint the floor.
'I'm a man you don't meet every day'
sang the man I saw here, yesterday.
Fear awakes beside my pillow
and it always wants to stay.
Love hides like a frightened child
whilst an alcove fills my chest,
it seems that there are places
it doesn't care to exist.
