Not sure where to put this .... but I have something to say!
I have been in writing correspondence with a friend's daughter who signed up for the United State Air Force. I have subscribed to the AF site and have been getting updates from her dad, Don.
I took on writing to her and sending cards in encouraging her....she is graduation this Friday!
I just want to share how important it is to .... well how much we can play a role in some one's life by touching them.
"She has been allowed more calls then usual to request items from home as she will be shipped out directly from boot camp to her assignment. Last night when she called, Don asked her about all the mail she received from him, his wife, the nieces and nephews. He asked what mail surprised her the most and made her happy? Her response was the ones from Ms Rita (that's me!) Now, Don is not one to BS me cuz he knows I will know…he said she said it without any hesitation.
Whether he was just saying to be nice or not…which I don’t think so cuz I know Don and he said that Victoria replied…I can’t wait for the cupcakes!
This made my day.!!!!!!
What a wonderful, alive feeling!
“Success …
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and affection children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endue the betrayal of friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.” ~~~Ralph Waldo Emerson.
My version ~
To touch another enuf to make a difference;
All it takes is to bring a smile upon their face.
To make them part of an existence
they never knew existed.
To bring new breathe into another’s life.
By a touch, a smile and some times only a written word.
You can make a whole world turn around.
Just wanted to share how what little we think we are doing we are really doing so much more.
