I think it's fabulous! Are you one of the men on display?

Well, they've been doing it with female hookers for quite some time in certain parts of the world, no? I suspect it's about as good of an idea for men as it is for women.

It's just a publicity stunt for a dating site anyway.
That being said, I bid $50 on the one with the guitar.

One gets to adopt them? What does that involve? Petting?

Now if we purchase such an item from the store do we have to use them for intended purposes? I've been looking for someone to do some menial tasks with below minimal compensation.

Well, one can flex and the other can strum a guitar and they both can model.

That's true but what about their intelligence and personality? Shouldn't we care about those things too? :nopity:

I don't know, I was just joking around. I don't think people who would actually use the service are interested in intelligence, per se. The article said they are models.

I guess we would care more about their intelligence if they were donating to a bank....

I think we should all stop and note that, this time, it was indeed a woman who opened that can of worms.

We could split the cost if you agree to a sharing agreement where I get him evenings and all day Saturday. You can have him all day Sunday.

If these were women in the life sized toy boxes, wouldn't there be outrage?
Something about the blatent objectification of women? Why is it ok to do it to men?
I think it's a terrible idea...for any one.

There already are in certain places (Amsterdam being the only one I'm 100% sure of--surely there're more) and I've not heard much outrage. Then again, Jen never been to Amsterdam, so I wouldn't know.

Just keep them fed and watered, give them regular excercise and Don't forget to change the litter tray.

This reminds me of Amsterdam red district where prostitutes are on display in shop windows.
Anything to get attention is worth a display only these things come with a price tag I guess.
You buy what you see but you do not know what you are getting because when it comes to people it is a different ball game.
They should stick a warning label saying: ' chose carefully pay a lot but at your own risks'
What do you think Emil?

I'd quite like to go along to wherever they're doing this, if only to cause some havoc. Imagine the fun you could surreptitiously putting a few extra stickers on the packages:
'Use before best-before date'
'Keep out of reach of children'
'Recalled due to defective parts'
'Small parts may be a choking hazard'
...and so on...

If you had used the correct word you would have had to award yourself infraction points.

I think the warning would be an automatic consideration anyway.

As Iamnobody said, had it been women instead of men there would have been a huge outcry about how "insulting" and "offensive" it is. As a guy I think this rather amusing and funny, personally I think there is nothing wrong with these things everyone is there by their own free will.
But I do want to point out that most guys will laugh and find this funny, had it been the other way round many women would have found this insulting. It's like how when someone makes fun of Jesus you have no national protests in the west but when someone pokes fun at Mohammed you have nations going ape-****. When movements such as feminism begin to take themselves to seriously it becomes hard for others to take those movements seriously.

I agree. It's just another example of how people have been turned into commodities.

Would people really be making a fuss if it had been women? Seems to me that if you go to the back of any of the free papers in Montreal, or to craigslist, you can find endless photos of women available for a fee. Yet, the objectification of women is so common that it doesn't warrant any media coverage. Can anyone even imagine a newspaper bothering to report on any of the several escort agencies for men out there?
