So, around this time every year I turn to my never-ending reading list and say "sorry, I'm putting you aside for the next month or so." because the Giller Prize longlist comes out.
The Giller Prize is the top prize for Canadian novels/short stories and the longlist can be found here (http://www.scotiabankgillerprize.ca/2012-longlist/)
I'm posting this in case anyone is interested in exposing themselves to new Canadian lit: mainly for those whose knowledge of Canadian lit extends no further than Margaret Atwood.
Usually I am a bit better read on my new CanLit before the list comes out, but I have been slacking this year and thus have so far only read one of the books on this list: The Emperor of Paris, which I can highly recommend.
