Dear Book Lovers,
Someone asked me today whether I thought of myself as a good person. I was on the verge of responding "yes" when it occurred to me that I don't even know what that means: "good person." What does being a good person look like (or, for that matter, feel like, sound like, smell like, taste like)? In the end, I had to reply, "I don't know."
As soon as I got home, I googled "what makes a good person." This forum was the top of the list. Lucky me! I am not one to blog or read blogs or join online communities, but I was struck by the quality, sincerity, and fine grammar of the posts. Additionally, I don't have many friends with whom I can talk about literature as neither my science friends nor my "ordinary" friends have a literary bent. So here I am, confident that I've stumbled across like-minded friends.
Warm regards,
SFL
