Through the blinds,
White-coated aluminum,
Half-way open,
I see the world of trees,
The playground of birds.
The trees carve themselves
In the absence of woodpeckers,
They break their branches
To create twigs for nests,
And then shed their leaves.
Through the same blinds,
The hummingbird peeps
Before it falls,
And the falling leaf whistles
after a brief glimpse of my universe.

In the absence of woodpeckers,
