Through the blinds,
White-coated aluminum,
Half-way open,
I see the world of trees,
The playground of birds.

The trees carve themselves
In the absence of woodpeckers,
They break their branches
To create twigs for nests,
And then shed their leaves.

Through the same blinds,
The hummingbird peeps
Before it falls,
And the falling leaf whistles
after a brief glimpse of my universe.

I'm not sure I understand the relevance of the second stanza to the whole of the poem.

That's what I see outside, and that's the metaphor of what my hands do inside.
