Can you recommend classic short stories of revenge, other than Poe's The Cask of Amontillado?

De Maupassant has a lot of them. For example try "the drunk". "A vendetta" is another very good one.

There are tons in the Bible, beginning with the story of Cain and Abel.

Look up 'The Cone' by H. G. Wells (it's available free online). It sprang to my mind, and the ending is so much fun. Go see why.

Thanks for the responses. I've read The Cone and was disappointed. I'll give De Maupassant a chance. As for the Bible, I must say those stories don't strike me as great literature.

There's a great story by Wm. Harrison in his Rollerball Murder Stories: "Arsons of Desire," about a fireman who believes recent blazes are his exacting revenge on women that spurned him.
