View Full Version : Literary journey

My literary travels continue. Up to now i had a small and generally not well-founded success by being published in five magazines. It is a bit optimistic that all publications have been in the last 10 months, so an average of 1 per 2 months... I would like to hope they will multiply now, with some new offers, and my new attempt at getting a collection of stories published by a major literary house.
Things are difficult. People are facing hardship not seen for many decades, and they do not seem to be turning to books either, which is largely understandable since books cost quite a lot. However i think that the general crisis may give opportunities. Some new literary magazines were formed, and i sent my first ever literary article to one of them.
If i could i would like to update this thread with how my journey in the world of letters is developing. I really hope for the book deal, but even if i end up not getting it i suppose i will continue to have work published in other outlets.

I write mostly short stories (usually up to 15 pages), with psychological themes. My main influences include De Maupassant, Kafka, Borges and Lovecraft. I maintain a journal numbering around 12.000 pages, which is my magnum opus. My purely literary work numbers around 1000 pages, and is something near 120 short stories. I am in the old age of 33. :)

After apologizing for mentioning so much about myself, i would like to finish this opening post with some wishes for others here who have literary aspirations, successes and problems that go with being a writer in this era. I return to this forum from time to time, hopefully being a better person in each new manifestation.
I do not write in English, but being translated to English is one of my long-term dreams...

Anyway, it has been nice writing to you, you can comment on anything, and if you want to you can share your own story of being a writer, or published, or even a supportive reader :)
