I didn't watch it then, I won't watch it now. It looks really dreadful. I take it back, I was home from college and we all gathered around the TV and watched the episode where JR's shooter was revealed.

I try to make a point of watching earth-shaking events that are captured on TV-Lee Harvey Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby (I was nine and playing with my sister; I remember my mother starting off the couch, shouting "He just shot him!" I glanced over my shoulder, then went back to our game); the moon landing ("One giant step, etc. etc.); and J.R. getting shot or his killer being unveiled, I can't really remember anymore. Good times.

Haha to be honest the cast of then look so shabby old and the new one so vehemently young it is kind of painful clash to the naked eye.
The rivalries will propably come to a messy head if you think of what the old cast used to be like competitive and fake.

I discovered that the best way to avoid rubbish TV was not to switch it on in the first place and when after a couple of years it had remained switched off, there was no further point in keeping it so I dispensed with it altogether.
I'm not making a comparison of course but one year the BBC Brain of Britain contestant was asked the secret of his success and he replied that he didn't own a television.

Well, as I said, I did own one for quite some time but as the soap operas, football matches, cops and robbers, dumbed down quiz games and that most unreal of broadcasting material 'reality TV' became it's raison d'être, it seemed to me that the TV companies were taking the **** and I reacted accordingly.

Ah I get what you are saying. I am however tolerant of many things and television is one them.
It is not the television as such that is bad it is what we allow to go on it that is.
I believe television is underated and yes much of it more bad then good but I think lots of it underchallenged is unregulated and so it means this type media technology is ruined.

I do know what you mean, when my ex moved out he took the tv and I only bought one this summer so I was without one for two years. That being said I did watch online, shows I found interesting and wasn't bothered by the crap you sometimes get stuck in.

I did miss the Monday documentaries though. Most of them were interesting.

You are not far wrong because I listen to the radio every day but in the evening's when I'm in I will be on the Internet. Today I caught a fascinating programme about why time seems to go faster the older we get and also a programme about the vanishing British pub. There's also a programme called More or Less that looks at exaggerations in claims by the media for various human activities and breaks them down to a true evaluation which is usually very different to those reported.
If it's interesting and informative items you are looking for, radio beats TV hands down. If anyone wants repetitive rubbish then TV is the winner but there are also a lot of pop music stations on the radio for those so inclined: it's a matter of being selective.
