Love Does Not Exist
No long smiles
No worth whiles
No uses
Just excuses
I will be free
From this fantasy
To live this life
Who needs a wife?
You see it in the movies
Makes it all look so easy
To fall for this trickery
No longer, not me
No need to take chances
For the second glances
They will only end
In something pretend.
But what it is I can’t understand,
is the elderly couple who still hold hands
Whose every waking day will blend
Because they’ve found their missing piece, their friend
So maybe there is hope for all
Someone to catch us when we fall
Someone who loves you just as much
And let’s you use them as a crutch
The one who looks into your eyes,
And sees the pairing of your lives.
With this one you’re not alone,
She is your life, your heart, your home.
So with the evidence I concur
It is not love that does not exist, but her.
No long smiles
No worth whiles
No uses
Just excuses
I will be free
From this fantasy
To live this life
Who needs a wife?
You see it in the movies
Makes it all look so easy
To fall for this trickery
No longer, not me
No need to take chances
