This masterpiece, given to us by the dear Hunter S. Thompson, is a drug addled tale about two compadres taking on Las Vegas in search of the "american dream."
It was great. The prose was fantastic, the story was engaging, and the characters were brilliant. Thompson's ability to rein in the drug induced comedy of the novel to send clear-cut messages regarding the death of the american dream and various other lifestyles is genius.
This novel, as most other critics have claimed, is one of the best novels to come out of the infamous "dope era." It is a quick and valuable read.
Highly recommended.
Cheers.

There has been no loss of the American Dream, on the contrary. Today there are more people with a milder version. It's far more available to many more people.
Double cheers.

While that may be your opinion, it does not change the point of the book.
Triple cheers.

Thompson wasn't looking for the American Dream and he didn't believe the American Dream was dead either. His goal was to portray the absurd stupidity of the "American Dream"
