Ephemeral Light

My quixotic beauty
with hyacinth eyes
and forget-me-not lips,
that refused to be kissed,
her heart beats
tumulus as moth wings
though her paper thin
skin which is illuminated
by a lantern that burns
forever within.

She reveals herself
by degrees with
each unfolding vertebrae,
in swan like grace
she extends herself,
while she moves across
the stage that was made
within her dreams,

Lotus blossoms
unfurl out of her navel,
they kneeled before her
in reverence to drink
of her nectars which
bestowed absolution
of their sins.

Feathers from
her fingertips,
and she liked to imagine
that she could fly,
but there was no one
whoever fell as
elegantly as she.

They whispered
that she was an angel
but I knew she was
always born to be
ephemeral, she was
that momentary light
you see mere seconds
after putting out
the candle flame.

Very nice. Some people just live fast. Some nice images and word play. She was more of an ideal then a person.

Thank you! Yes that is the general idea, she is intended to be something of an ideal, or a concept.

Wonderful use of language. It begs to be read aloud.
