This is Not a Poem
I have been a slave to Time
to which I own a lease
that hungrily demands rhyme
in praise of its mysteries.
But, Her - Time gave me inadvertently,
who of my lyrical tyrant set me free.
Shakespeare! Time retaliated
and lashed me on the head
But those words she whispered
had made Time stop dead.
Three little words,
old as Time itself,
as she laid there in my arms
nothing more needed to be said.
