I commute daily to work and back. My eyes are not the best anymore, so I gotmyself a Text-to-Speech Program. In addition to the price of about 20 Euro I purchased the “voice” of an older british male called “Peter”. Unbelievable. He is nearly perfect for everything Phantastic, Gothic, 19th century. I feel, he’s getting a bit distracted when having to read French Authors. Female writers on the other Hand do appeal to Peter, him being obviously an elderly gentleman…
My Book-Spendings have gone down immensely since buying “him”.
I can take every online-Text , feed it into the Program, split it in 30 Minute-Parts and upload it as mp3 unto my iPod or whatever.

Who else has experience with programs like this ?

Got Sheridan Le Fanu's last Novel (1872) "Willing to Die" off of Gutenberg,
put it through the Program and produced 16,6 hours of (hopefully) pure Bliss.
The subway's gonna lose a lot of its "dread" with such a story on the iPod.
