No doubt about it, whatsoever:
Gwendolen is sexy.
Her blonde hair is immaculately arranged.
She wears a red dress with lace on her sleeves,
The frills peek out underneath the soft jacket.
A quiver of arrows is belted round her waist.
And a loaded bow is grasped firmly in her left hand.
Apparently there has been a critical debate
Over whether or not Deronda was circumcised,
Which has concluded by saying (unconvincingly)
That it points to an element of comic playfulness.
