Philosophy centered around something..

I've realised that I don't enjoy simply reading say Plato's republic or Freud. However, I really enjoy learning about Conscience and then what Frued and many other thinkers have said regarding it. Therefore I'm hoping that someone knows of a book or many books which take an issue as its core which then expands with various philosophical views regarding the subject.
