This is my third reading of Tolstoy's War and Peace. Generally, I read about 250 pages a day, so it will take less than a week to read the book.
Generally, I read a lot more nonfiction than I do fiction. If I read fiction, I usually read a companion book of nonfiction.
Once I get a-hold of a topic, I will read as much as I can of the subject. Reading two biographies of Lyndon Johnson sent me spiraling into reading about the Vietnam War: not so much on the war itself, but on its origins and the French experience up to 1954 and the revolution in Vietnam after WWII.
But then fiction came calling and picked up War and Peace again. And as so often happens, I'm looking for some companion nonfiction.
I want to go more toward the diplomacy side of the era (1800-1815, say).
Anyone got some ideas on some good nonfiction books on the overall Napoleonic Wars?
