Dancing in the Dark

I am dancing alone within the rain
when across a distant plain I caught your eyes,
your were but a phantom in the darkness
and I knew we would always be worlds apart
but we shall always live neath the same moon,
the Autumn wind, your last lingering kiss
binding us forever within the night,
a warm Summer breeze your final embrace,
your fingertips fading in a whisper,
watching the memory drift slowly away,
the last trace of your voice comes bittersweet,
desires flame still dimly flickering,
while I am dancing alone in the dark
your shadow stands watching at the window.
