We did miss the Diamond Jubilee but I think it is never too late to have a royal weekend.

Who are your favourite royals (real or fictional)?

I'm partial to Queen Victoria just because my great-great-grandfather was one of her Life Guards (lieutenant, First Regiment).

He and his wife would have been quite imposing today, let alone in the mid-late 1800s--he stood about 6-foot-6 or 7, and his wife was 6-foot-4 with hair down to her ankles (we have photos). Three girls would sit next to her with her hair across their laps to help brush it. Apparently she finally cut it off at some point because it was giving her headaches.

Henry the Eight because of his Church of England legacy and he had style. His armoury wardrobe was to die for.

Catherine II of course, the greatest woman who ever lived. I like Boudica too, she was a badass warrior queen.

I reckon Charlie because of the ears - imagine his television reception! He can also ride a horse and hit a ball with a stick at the same time.

But historically I'd take virtually any of the Welsh Tudors up to and including Elizabeth I over anything that's appeared since. And Arthur obviously.

I'm also a big fan of King Willy, the Jamaican drug lord from Predator 2.

Good pick, Emil. Though I'm a fan of the 30s version--Peter Jackson's remake sucked.

Oh? Can she shoot lightning out of her hands? . . . I thought not.

Alexander III

I would say Fredrick The great and Alexander the First of Russia, two truly great men. Oh and surely Louis the XIV must be mentioned when it comes to great Royals.

Poor Harold; first a stick in the eye followed by a broadsword through the Royal jewels.
