Wait the Morning

I stood alone in the desert
When the caravan left
Under the dim stars and yawning Time
There I heard the Lord:
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”
Ages over ages as a waving sea
Passed over me
Beside the weeds, whispering
I shall depart in the morning
And redeem pain by tears
And tears by holding hands
My dreams are waiting in the morning
To regain a hug with him again
Beside the whispering weeds and grief
I kept waiting the morning…
And waiting
