Yes, this is a Christain themed poem/epistle that I dreamed up the other day. Yes it preaches a bit, hence the epistle style. I have written this modeled after a Pauline Epistle. If you're not into these types of scrolls, please don't read then. This will be the last of the series concerning such themes. Anyway, enjoy it and thanks! Oh and I don't pretend to speak for God, just saying LOL.
An Angel of Prophecy (In Three Parts)
~
I, having searched all things deep
Found it good, to lay account
By a certain Spirit, the things
That shall shortly come to pass
By the promise of the Lord.
And having been stirred
In the light of the Spirit,
Having been directed by He;
These things written forth
Are not of my pen,
But by way of inspiration.
And by way of revelation
An angel came to me and said,
"You will be well to know,
This Jesus is the Glory of God the Father
And sits on the right hand of His throne-
Adorned in Immaculate white,
And filled with majesty and truth.
For He is Spirit and cannot be seen with the eye,
But He is loved with the Spirit: the spirit of belief
That hovers in the born-again, a gift from God;
And it is this grace, filled with the Holy Spirit
That draws you to Him."
~
Now as I woke up
The angel departed,
Leaving a scent of lovely camellia
And my mind bursting with truth.
For I had felt the angel,
Though I did not see,
For I was communicated through a vision,
A vision of wisdom of the heavenly.
For this angel came passing through the night
When my mind was fast with no light,
And the Spirit came knocking on the door
And I having opened, to a vision I adored.
So I was entranced by a spirit.
Not in a trance of self reflection,
But a trance by inspiration
That of the Spirit of the Holy.
And it was good that I should write down
What the Spirit had spoken.
~
Now in the third hour upon waking
Another angelic vision came in the wind,
Yes, it came calling me in,
To look and see what lay in.
And this angel spoke in tongues,
Yet I was made to understand
The things he was uttering
As though by my self hand.
And the angel did say:
"It is good that you should hear this prophecy-
For the things of the Lord to comprehend;
Now go outside and see a certain light."
And having heard this
I went straightway outside
As the angel had told me,
And having looked up
I saw this incredulous light
In and among the stars;
To best describe,
A purple glowing crown;
And it glittered for sure
Among the deep of the sky.
And having seen this,
I was assured that no one else
Could see this,
That of this vision, except me.
And it was in this that was explained
That of a glimpse of the glorious,
And my eyes were surely filled with wonder
By the sight I beheld and reflected on.
~
And the voice of the angel said,
"Now surely the times given
Are not for I or you to know.
But this sign you have been given
Is a sign for the believer to know
That the time of the Lord is near at hand.
For it is written:
"With the Lord a day is like a thousand years,
and a thousand years are like a day,"
And what is a mere moment of the life of a man,
Is eternity with the life of the Lord.
And so having seen the signs of the times,
Know that the Lord is close at hand,
At the very door."
And so having heard this
The spirit of the angel departed,
And I was left alone to ponder my faith.
II
To the believer, let him hear!
We are the torch of belief
In a time of darkness.
And no moment,
However dark,
Shall keep us apart
From the Lord.
For we are built in promise
And He sacrificed His own blood;
He, having made the redemption,
So that we may live
From our own sacrifice to Him.
For it is a joy to die in Christ
And yet live,
For this is the promise
That is made good by the word of God.
Now all things considered
How can we deny the very Spirit that lives within us?
It's the very breath we take,
And without it we are dead in ourselves.
For who can save us from ourselves?
If there be no Savior
Coming triumphant over the horizon
To answer the bell of our hearts?
But we know we are the inheritors of the promise
That by whom the Spirit had spoken,
And lives and dwells within us,
So we are not beacons to be pitied.
III
Now infer this,
That the scoffers have no life in them,
But that of their own
Given to them by God,
Who they unruly deny.
But God having known this,
It pleased him to send folly their way,
That they may believe the lie.
For from the very beginning of time
When the word was spoken:
"And let there be man"
It was done out of two parents,
And they having seen the serpent
Were touched by his hand.
And so by proverbs it is read:
"For the evil man has no future;
the lamp of the wicked will be put out".
And also in proverbs it is read:
"Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off".
So which of these two shall be cut off?
For the Lord cannot contradict himself.
And also,
"If we are faithless, he will remain faithful,
for he cannot disown himself."
Being interpreted:
If we are unbelieving and unfaithful,
Christ will remain true to his word,
And we cannot hope to be saved.
Therefore the wicked will be cut off
And the believer will abide with Christ forever,
For we have His word.
