Cross-Genres

Writing can come in various forms: poetry, fiction, non-fiction, usually. But within the last couple of decades or more, the forms have begun to blend. For many, this may pose a problem. Without rules, what is the criterion to criticize writing? For others, it's liberating.

Am I wrong in these observations? So do you practice this cross-genre work? Do you like it, not like it?
