This is something maybe a bit different
I am a composer who recently set the task of arranging Walt Whitman for piano and voice. Bringing a poem to a musical dimension is a common task that composers set themselves, with varying degrees of success.
I have asked a few musicians what they think, but I wanted to get a perspective from people who have greater expertise in literature. Do I manage to capture the mood and flow of the poetry, or have I failed?
I was fortunate enough to have the piece sung by a professional soprano.
Anyway, please let me know what you think, especially those who appreciate Walt Whitman.
