As a companion thread to Classic Rock, I think we should have a classic pop thread to cover all the songs that we grew up with and which accompanied us through our lives.
I'll start with some classic disco.

I couldn't stand seeing that goose egg laying there uncracked.
I do recall a few of those you posted. I recall the Wang Chung being popular among the crowd I hung out with.
Here's a few random pop hits that come to mind heard in my formative years, that being roughly junior high through college years:
KC and the Sunshine Band

How about some Super Sounds from the Seventies?
The theme of this tune has gotten El Sancho in trouble more than once in his life.
The Hollies, Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.

The Hollies, Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.

I realized I've always liked that song, but I never knew what the lyrics were until I read them in that link. Here's another Hollies song that I remember. I don't actually remember the name "Hollies", but the songs I can't forget.

For Olivia Newton-John, that papayahed mentioned, here's one of my favorites:

This was always on in a pub I used to frequent.

The DJ in the nightclub we used to frequent liked this one. I only recently found out who it was by.

Hearing those old tunes I haven't listened to in a long, long time is like a bolt from the blue, burnt across my brain (or what's left of it).

Reminds me of one of those endless summer holidays when I was a kid.
I was working in a pub when this was popular. Takes me right back behind the bar pulling the Tetleys and serving Australian Castlemaine XXXX lager. Mmmmm

Here’s a blast from the past: a pop song about a popular magazine that used to be edgy, but then sold out and went pop, and then sort of went edgy again.

In the early to middle 80's I was working in a slaughterhouse. A number of songs evoke those times:
I would sweat along to this lugging boxes of meat in the vac pack before they offered me a better job in the slaughterhall

This one too. Good for an afternoon when you were knackered.

Nena - a one hit wonder - was capitalising on the nuclear fear still around from the cold war in the 80's.

This was my boss's favourite song. He sang it all the time:

This one - tea and The Tube - a British pop programme on a Friday night before I went out on the town. Yayyyyyyy
