Is it okay to paraphrase, bowdlerise, or twist
A geological fossil who's work was schist
Unfashionable stuff even in its own time
Seeking redemption with petrified rhyme
Oh give me someone who dares to udpate
Opus Posthumus or to try transliterate
A dullard bleak into oblique but relatable
And do it before I fall asleep at my table
Should we then credit the original author
Or bugger the source - would you rather
Read verse moderne than epic saga relic
And drink wine under the moonbeams with TV's Tom Sellick
