Surely he was a man gasping for truth
For the silence of God was deafening.
He always walked with a broad smile
But inside the fire's must have raged.

A battering stick waved in his heart,
This man of revolutionary ideas -
Never reached out to the outside world,
He kept to himself most the time.

Then one sunny day he walked through the Avenue
With his usual brooding smile,
Waving hi to his neighbors
As though waving goodbye.

He opened the Presbyterian church doors
Sat down and said a prayer.
Then Mr. Belsley took out a revolver
And blew out his brains.
