The Puppeteer

The master of puppets
owned a girl,
her voice and actions
were but his,
he lured her away
from all she loved,
broke her friendships
and her heart,
because only the heart
accepts no master.

The girl was desperate
for joy and freedom,
so with a blade
she cut her strings
and floated to heavens,
but her willful master
couldn't let go her
so he followed her up
and patched the strings,
for there is no puppet
without a puppeteer.

I think the poem is trying to show a parallel here. One as a puppet master, the other to show the possessiveness of a flesh and blood relationship but you need to use terms like cutting the strings in a more useful way. Are you suggesting she committed suicide?

And yes, she cut her strings or (her veins) in order to be free, poor lil girl. :(
