Polednice

Hi everyone,
I'm an undergraduate student of medieval English language at literature in the UK, and thought I'd sign up for some fun (and hopefully contentious!) literary discussion.
Obviously, I'm a great fan of medieval literature, but I'm also a staunch lover of science, and am actually planning to go into cognitive linguistics at graduate level, studying phonology. My broader interests include philosophy and classical music, so there's a lot to be talking about! :D
P.S. 'Polednice' is a Czech word, pronounced a little like Pol-ed-Nietzsche, and is a slavic mythological witch who I came to know through a composition by Dvorak. Those with an interest in international literature may recognise it from the 19th century poetry collection, Kytice, by Karel Erben. :)
