Waking up, the mirror was staring at me, as it always was, as if to greet me with todays struggle. My skin had paled at an unnatural speed, yesterday it was golden. My head felt heavy with sickness, and my chest confirmed that. Never did I think that I could feel worse--but nonetheless, I shoved up from my bed, going through the morning routine to create the face that everybody knew. Music was blaring loudly, but I was used to that by now, atleast. Leaving the house, the forest swayed, just like it always did with the heavy wind that always seemed to blow. Walking through it, I found that the pathway that always seemed to be there was gone, overgrown with nothing but trees. I can't say how long I pushed through them until the branches grew less and less thick, allowing me to see through them. Looking down, I saw the rocky pathway had reappeared, and I hated it because it had abandoned me when I needed it. In the distance, a crackle of fire was heard. I didn't think much of it, til I saw the burning structure in the middle of the field, which was my house. A window cracked loudly, and I couldn't move myself any faster than a snail could. Cradled by shock, I could do nothing but stare, until it finally occurred to me that preciousness was held inside that place. I couldn't grab it out , I couldn't go in..I hoped to myself that it wouldn't be burned, it wouldn't be damaged. It felt like screaming, but no one could hear.
