fait accompli or faith accompli?
would the English equivalent be ''an accomplished fact'' that cannot be broken and if so could it also refer to an act of accomplishement in which case it can be amended being it an act rather then a fact?

World English Dictionary
fait accompli (fɛt akɔ̃pli) — n , pl faits accomplis
something already done and beyond alteration
[literally: accomplished fact]
Cultural Dictionary
fait accompli [(fayt uh-kom- plee , fet ah-kohm- plee )]
Something that has already been done: “The company president did not discuss the new hiring policy with her board of directors; instead she put it into effect and presented the board with a fait accompli.”
The Web is a wonderful thing for finding out stuff. I recommend it.

Thank you Mark.
I did look and I did not find anything with
'act accompli' as oppose to 'fait accompli'
One cancels the other in the sense an act can be reversed.

I think it's because 'fait accompli' is a common phrase in English (adopted from French, il va sans dire) and 'act accompli' isn't, so it'll tend not to show up in Google.
(But if it were, by the way, it'd be 'acte'.)
