as I gazed onto the ryes
I saw a single golden ray
it looks as if it had a bay
somewere it laid and splashed in hays
it had a silhouette of day
of sunshine metling in the haze
as I gazed closer and stared
it seemed to wander in all shapes
beaming colours of springmaze
from honey combs to gentle tans
then it moved about in wind of chimes
to rise to higher moors of skies
as I wondered to myself
of where it might have gone and went
whether it sailed above the lights
to sway against all waves of times
I smiled to myself and said
oh what a glorious view of may
for nature never fails its weight
up against its beauty sways
I saw a single golden ray
it looks as if it had a bay
somewere it laid and splashed in hays
it had a silhouette of day
of sunshine metling in the haze
as I gazed closer and stared
it seemed to wander in all shapes
beaming colours of springmaze
from honey combs to gentle tans
then it moved about in wind of chimes
to rise to higher moors of skies
as I wondered to myself
of where it might have gone and went
whether it sailed above the lights
to sway against all waves of times
I smiled to myself and said
oh what a glorious view of may
