Which would it be and HOW?
Please proceed to explain how and what would you paint?

for me it would have to be:

''Gone With The Wind?''

A stroke of genius would have me paint a blue sky with yellow orangy breeze in the backroung with someone standing with a trambone/saxophone blowing the words:

''franlky my dear I do give a damn!!!!''

To answer "how" would require artistic ability far beyond my capability. I can do stick figures at best. However, if I were responding to the question "What novels would you like to see brought to life with oil or watercolor," I'd say Illiers-Combray and Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities.

How about Toilers of the Sea by Victor Hugo.
I would use watercolor and...never mind, the author has already accomplished the subject that I would paint and executed it far better than I could hope to do...

Hugo's own painting of the octopus that Gilliatt defeats...
