I dig to unearth
Stories of faces
And lost smiles,
Interrupted words
And dead poets,
Murmuring voices
Of the long-muted,
Faint rainbow colors
Of the half-blind,
Under the surface,
Beyond the skin,
In the skull bone,
Among the veins,
Buried by promises
And cold longings,
Drowned in seasons
Of lethe and oblivion
I dig, I unearth.
