Cut Grass
Cut grass lies frail:
Brief is the breath
Mown stalks exhale.
Long, long the death

I knew you can write. Is experimenting with anti-poetry over for you?

Eeechm... (clears throat). This is by Philip Larkin, actually. A very well known poem, in fact. Are you actually presenting it as your own creation in a forum full of literature enthusiasts? Please tell me you're not THAT pathetic.

:( I was fooled again like how those men in my past left me dumb and numb.. God, I'm still gullible. Do something. By the way, what's your point, David?
I guess he is experimenting if people here read or have read other poets. If I don't, others do. If I haven't, others have.

What, not your poem?
Now I'm starting to wonder if that's even your picture!

It's sad. Mods should ban him. If there's a taboo in literature, it is passing someone's work as yours, which is worse than cut-and-paste plagiarism.
I need to explore English poetry more beyond Auden, Wilde, Lewis, Hardy, and Yeats (If the Irish are English). That's what I learned from this thread. Maybe I'll write a short story about this.
I'm embarrassed with my ignorance. Had he posted an American, Latin-American, Spanish or Asian well-known poem, he could not have fooled me.

I'm 99% certain blatant plagiarism is against the rules around here.
i'm glad this happened earlier than later. lol, at first i thought he was the underdog, but looking at his previous posts, i now understand the antipathy. troll.

The Irish are not English. Ulstermen belong to the United Kingdom.
Dublin is in another country.
We recommend the English poet Thom Gunn.
Sorry you found yourself embarrassed. I think Larkin is a fine poet- but then also Bob Dylan. I’m sure you’d recognise Berryman, Lowell.
Many thanks.

My picture shows the Scottish singer Sharleen Spiteri.
She’s lovely.

Seriously now. This is how you're going to play this? "Hahaha, I've embarrassed her, I'm so clever!" Come on. Either be a man and admit you have a problem (the need to plagiarize is a problem -- have a look at this very interesting New Yorker article about your sort of chap (http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/02/13/120213fa_fact_widdicombe)), or at least use up whatever crumbs of decency you may have left, be silent and go away.
Good health,

You're referring to the 'plagiarism', not my 'apologia'.
So I introduce F.R.Leavis' picture?

David, Yeats is studied in English Literature, hence I'm not sure with the ideological/political consideration used by scholars in including an Irish and even a Polish (in the case of Joseph Conrad) in English Literature. I'm not an all-knowing person. Don't expect me to know all poets in the world. I was embarrassed because out of my goodness, I lost face. I really thought you were not a troll, and you just wanted to share a different literary voice. I'm into experimentation too, but I don't resort to cheap shots, and I avoid small-mindedness. By the way, I know Dublin. Don't insult my humility and, yes, my intelligence. If you want, open a thread on any philosophical and critical theory topic. Let's debate. No Wikipedia.

Besides, English is my second language... third actually, if I have to include my native dialect.

If you __are__ Philip Larkin hiding behind this nom, reveal yourself now and all will be forgotten as you are welcomed into our midst :)
OTHERWISE..
repeated, blatant, unapologetic plagiarism is absolutely never tolerated here on The Literature Network under any circumstances, see Forum Rule
6. If you are going to refer to or use content from other sites, authors, or entities, you must include a link or citation for it. You cannot copy and paste entire articles, stories, poems, or etc. from other sites or entities as that is copyright infringement, and contributes nothing to discussion. You should not need more than a few lines, sentences, or maybe a paragraph, to make your point in reference to the topic/discussion. From Copyright.gov ; “Under the fair use doctrine of the U.S. copyright statute, it is permissible to use limited portions of a work including quotes, for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, and scholarly reports.” Passing off others’ work as your own, whether unintentionally or purposefully, is copyright infringement, and the Literature Network abides by the Copyright Laws of the United States of America and of other countries where applicable.
Thank you to all the members who report these types of things to us moderators
