High atop divine inspiration stood I
On the Lord's mountain
Girded with no knowledge of thought
But only of the Word of God.

And there I stood over the Lillie laden fields
That spun below into the valley of life,
Hearing the echo of the wind
Crash through the rocky hilltops.

Being as one with God
I saw His splendor before my eye,
Eagles and waterfowl spreading their wings
Into soaring flights.

And there I saw a yellow sun
Blissfully set behind a canyon,
And there I felt the cool winds of night
Settle beside me.

And then I saw something heavenly
Within the symmetry.

An angel woven as stars
Arrayed like a silver crown,
Glimmering with speckles of gold.

And a lamplight spilling its light
Down from the divine.

And I heard the sound of wisdom
Speak of the mysteries once hidden,
But now shown in all its glory.

I would love to see blazeofglory post a reply to this. :-)

If I see you around again blaze, I'm definitely pointing you in this direction :)

this is definitely the brightest gem out of all the poems I've read recently.
