Liquid jewels
Smeared and speckled
Across the sky
Topaz fuses with Opal
Sapphire bubbles in Ruby
Emerald horizon streaks
Above reflecting Aquamarine
Rays of Citrine sunlight
Through Amethyst clouds
Wow. The imagery and energy in this poem nearly made my mind explode.

Thanks Skia :)
Hey you're back - your response was a mini-poem in itself!

I too found this poem delightfull, like a flower brings cheer to a room.

Lovely imagery. It made me think of your pictures. Your imagination must be constantly working. :)

The specific colors of this one are striking, and not that this isn't good BUT--
if you don't mind my venturing an opinion, MM, I would like to suggest that instead of spending your time writing "pretty" imagistic verse, that you concentrated on the wild and quite wonderful "comic" poems that are your signature. The world can certainly use a unique voice from the particular talent that makes your work stunningly different from that of everyone else. You're one of the few of us who get the idea of "defamiliarization."
You know what I'm talking about.

I found this visually stunning.
One of the hardest things to do in poetry is to create visual images.
You seem to have found the knack.

Thanks Aunty :)
It's all creativity to me - I only strive for consistency within the work itself. Mood plays a large part of course (like if I feel like doing anything at all)
To me sunset is the most melancholy part of the day, maybe to everyone, so in a sense that's what this may be about: the ephemeral contrasted with the timeless :)
