For my mammoth reading challenge for April I will be reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Anyone who'd like to join me in reading and discussing the book would be most generously welcomed :)

We read it at my local bookclub - the general view was good, but with faults.
How's it going so far

This is a book that I was really on the fence about reading, and could not quite decide if I wanted to read it or not. In parts it sounded interesting but at other points it did not sound like the sort of thing I would be interested in. I finally ended up picking up a copy of it when I found it cheap somewhere, and I have to say I was not disappointed it, and reading it proved to be the right choice. I really enjoyed it.

I also have had my eye on it, but haven't read it. I think I may try it. I'm getting sick of the "classic" literature.

So far so good. I think the 'voices' of the girls are far too literary but then it is an engaging story, very sensuously written and whilst I've not made massive progress I can see there's some sort of terrible event coming.

Wow - that was brilliant. I think I can safely say I devoured that book, and could have read more and more and more about the Price girls. What an excellent read.
